Lina, a shy new student, discovers a magical world behind the library shelf where she helps a paper lion find its lost roar, and in doing so, finds her own voice and confidence.

LINA AND THE LION

Lina was new at Sunnybrook School. She loved stories but felt too shy to talk in class. Every time she wanted to speak, her voice hid behind her heartbeat.

One day, Lina noticed a tiny glowing door behind the library shelf. It whispered softly, “Brave hearts find the way!” Lina took a deep breath and opened it.

The door led to a long hallway filled with floating books and fluttering paper birds. The air smelled like crayons and magic. “Wow!” Lina gasped.

A paper lion jumped from a page, shaking. “I lost my roar!” it cried. Lina’s knees trembled, but she said, “Don’t worry, I’ll help you.”

Lina walked into the Hall of Echoes, where loud sounds bounced off the walls. “Let’s roar together,” she said. “R–ROAR!” The sound grew big and bright!
