2D Graphic Designer

Remote / Worldwide

Giggle Academy is seeking an experienced 2D Graphic Designer to join our founding team

Responsibilities

  • Define the visual concepts and styles of our educational games, including game characters, props, and scenes. Ensure the overall screen is catered to young children with adequate elements of cuteness, colours, engagement and attractiveness.
  • Create high quality artwork that is suitable for children of all age with details to colour pairing and compositions.
  • Work closely with the concept team, UI/UX designers and animators to ensure the visual delivery meet the content requirements.
  • Involve actively in concept discussion, and propose initiatives not only related to the artwork, but also to other production steps ( e.g. game design, animation design, etc.)

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of professional experience in game/gamification/educational graphic design. Past experiences in cartoon design is a plus.
  • Proficient with Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop, experience with Animate is a plus.
  • Creativity and ownership are a must. We are looking for someone who is passionate with design and eager to contribute to ideas to be a part of our core founding team
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.

Spine Animation Designer

Giggle Academy is seeking an experienced Spine Animation Designer to join our founding team.

Responsibilities

  • Design and create animations for game characters, scenes, and special effects, completing high-quality animation designs according to game requirements.
  • Work closely with team members such as concept artists and UI designers to ensure that the animations are coordinated with the overall game style.
  • Continuously optimize animation effects, improve game quality, and enhance player satisfaction.
  • Keep track of industry trends, pay attention to new technologies, and provide innovative animation design suggestions for the team.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of professional experience in Spine animation design tools.
  • Extensive knowledge & experience with Unity development engine.
  • Experience with complete project development.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.

Senior Mobile/App Game Developer (Android)

Giggle is seeking a Senior Mobile/App Game Developer to lead the rapid development and launch of our MVP game for English language learners. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in game development and a proven track record of delivering high-quality Mobile/App games (bonus points if games are educational).

Responsibilities

  • From concept to deployment, responsible for the end-to-end development of our MVP Android version, as well as adaptation on different models of devices.
  • Collaborate closely with the product team to translate requirements into technical specifications.
  • Implement game mechanics, functionalities, and UI/UX elements according to design requirements to enhance user engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure smooth performance across a variety of mobile devices.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of professional experience in Android game development or equivalent project experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of game engines/frameworks, with a preference for Android-specific experience.
  • Proficient in Unity game development engine, able to use Unity for the development of interactive games and educational content.
  • Possess the ability to program efficiently in C# language, as well as experience in implementing game physics, animation, and user interface development.
  • Deep understanding of React Native for cross-platform mobile application development.
  • Familiar with JavaScript (and TypeScript), able to create performance-optimized and user-friendly mobile application interfaces.

Gamification Product Manager

In this role, you will steer the creation and implementation of gamification strategies aimed at enhancing user engagement and learning experience. You harness a blend of product management prowess with a keen eye for integrating gaming mechanics in education.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of compelling gamification strategies that enhance student engagement and learning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers, developers, and executive leadership, to deliver gamified solutions that align with our education & gamification goals.
  • Regularly perform learner research and peer analysis to understand educational trends and incorporate relevant gamification techniques.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on the success of implemented gamification strategies, making adjustments as necessary to achieve desired product outcomes.

Content Production Manager / Educator

We're searching for a passionate and knowledgeable Content Production Manager, with a focus on teaching English as a second language. This role involves creating immersive and effective learning content to gamify beginner/intermediate English language concepts. Candidates should be experienced in content production, exhibit a deep understanding of K12 English language curriculums, and demonstrate an ability to make them accessible and engaging.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce engaging English content/learning paths that aligns with our educational objectives and gamification strategies
  • Work closely with PM and tech teams to ensure content is pedagogically sound and user-centric.
  • Review, edit, and update content to maintain its relevance in accordance with the evolving curriculum standards and learner needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Advanced degree in English, Education, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in content development or educational content production, with a focus on English.
  • Experience teaching English as a second language, teaching concepts, and the ability to simplify them for varied audiences.
  • Native or equivalent written/verbal English language skills, with an eye for detail and creative flair.

Sound Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Create and produce original songs, background music and sound effects suitable for children.
  • Work closely with game designers and education experts to ensure audio content is consistent with educational goals and gameplay design.
  • Responsible for audio editing, mixing and sound quality optimization.
  • Manage and maintain music and sound effects libraries.
  • Conduct copyright review and compliance management of existing music material.
  • Optimize audio files for multi-platform interactive content, including mobile devices and the web.

Requirements

  • Have a professional background in music, sound design or related fields.
  • Understand the preferences of different cultures for music and sound effects and have broad adaptability and cultural sensitivity.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience related to music production. Applicants with experience in children's music production are preferred.
  • Proficient in audio editing software (such as Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, etc.).
  • Proficient in music middleware (such as FMOD, Wwise, etc.), able to design and implement complex audio logic and dynamic sound effects.
  • Able to create various styles of music suitable for children of different ages.
  • Experience creating interactive or game sound effects.
