Why Lizard Pushes Up and Down
A charming and playful story about a little lizard who wants to dance like his animal friends but ends up discovering the joy and strength of doing push-ups. The tale combines humor and gentle encouragement, making it perfect for young children learning about perseverance and trying new things.
Long ago, Lizard wanted to dance.
He saw Flamingo spin. He saw Monkey flip. He saw Peacock pose.
“I want to groove too!” said Lizard.
He wiggled. He jiggled. He tripped over his own toes.
“Try slower,” said Tortoise.
So Lizard bent his elbows. He dipped low... Then popped back up.
“Hmm,” he said. “That feels kinda good!”
He tried again. *Down... up!* *Down... up!*
“Hey!” said Owl. “He’s doing… push-ups?”
Lizard kept going. Under the sun. On a rock. On one toe.
“Down! Up! Down! Up!”
“Impressive!” said Elephant. “Hardcore!” said Parrot.
Soon, animals lined up to try it. Giraffe got stuck halfway. Hippo fell asleep mid-rep. Snake wiggled and called it a win.
But Lizard? He kept going—slow, steady, strong.
“Who needs dancing,” he grinned, “when I’ve got lizard power?”
From that day on, Lizard pushed up and down every morning—just to feel alive.
And that’s why Lizard pushes up and down—not for fun, but for forest fitness!
But just so you know—this tale is for fun. Real lizards do push-ups to show off, not to exercise!
