Detaily příběhu

I am standing on a beach at night. The sky is dark and full of stars. The sand feels cool under my feet. Everything is quiet, and the ocean looks like a giant black mirror.

Suddenly, a wave crashes onto the sand. Splash! I see a bright blue light in the water. It looks like tiny neon stars are dancing in the waves. What is making the water glow?

I look very closely at the water. I see millions of tiny, tiny living things. They are so small you can't see them during the day. They are called plankton. These little creatures have a superpower!

Inside their tiny bodies, these plankton have a special "glow-juice." This is called bioluminescence. It is like they have a little flashlight inside them that they can turn on whenever they want.

Why do they glow? I see a fish swim near the plankton. Flash! The plankton lights up! The bright light surprises the fish and scares it away. The glow is a "security alarm" to keep the tiny plankton safe.

I take a step on the wet sand. Look! My footprint is glowing bright blue! When I move the sand, I wake up the plankton. They think something is trying to catch them, so they turn on their lights to say "Hello!"

I watch a big wave roll toward the shore. As the water curls and tumbles, it shakes the plankton. The whole wave turns into a glowing blue tunnel. It looks like a scene from a fairy tale movie.

I see a boat moving far out at sea. Behind the boat, there is a long tail of blue light in the water. It looks like a shooting star is traveling through the ocean.

Plankton are not the only ones! I look deeper into the ocean. I see jellyfish that look like floating neon lamps. I see deep-sea fish with glowing "fishing poles" on their heads to find food in the dark.

I wonder where the light goes when the sun comes up. The plankton are still there! But the sunlight is too bright. Their tiny lights are like candles in the sun—you just can't see them until the sky gets dark.

The glowing water is one of the most beautiful sights on Earth. It reminds me that nature is full of hidden surprises. Even in the darkest places, there is light and life.

I sit on the sand and watch the blue waves dance. I don't need a magic wand to see something amazing. I just need to look at the ocean at the right time. Nature is the best magician.
