In Cindera, every child has a glowing flame. Rune's burns red—rare and feared. When darkness steals others' light, she must uncover the truth of her fire. A tale of courage, old magic, and a girl who won’t stay small.
In the faraway land of Cindera, every child is born with a tiny flame glowing in their chest. Gold means joy. Blue means wisdom. Green means peace. But when a girl named Rune was found in the ashes of a burned forest, her light flickered deep red—and no one knew what it meant.
The elders were afraid. "Red is the color of forgotten fire magic," they said, shaking their heads. "It once shook mountains and shattered temples. Stay quiet, stay small, and stay out of the way," they warned her.
But Rune was not small. Her heart burned with a fierce spark. One dark evening, shadows crept across the land, stealing lights from children’s hearts. Their glowing flames vanished like sparks in the wind.
Rune could not stay quiet. She packed a small bag, and out of the bushes jumped Moss, a stubborn squirrel with bright eyes. "I’ll help you," he chattered. They set off together beneath the silver stars.
First, they reached the silent ruins where cold wind whispered through broken stones. Rune held her red light high. Suddenly, the shadows tried to snuff it out! But Moss darted left and right, dropping tiny acorns that glowed blue. The shadows shrieked and fled.
Next, they climbed the hill where sleeping giants lay under moss and leaves. The giants’ breaths smelled like earth and rain. Rune called softly to the wind and stars, and the boy who spoke their language appeared, his eyes sparkling like the night sky.
Together, they found the last spark of an ancient spirit hidden beneath a giant’s thumb. The spirit whispered stories of old fire magic and courage. Rune’s red flame grew warm and strong.
Back they ran, faster than the shadows. This time, Rune’s flame blazed bright. The shadows screamed and vanished into nothingness, and the children’s lights flickered back—gold, blue, green—all glowing with joy again.
The elders watched in awe as Rune’s red flame shone, not fearful but proud. The forgotten fire magic was not a curse—it was a light that could save them all.
And from that day, no one told Rune to stay quiet or small. Because the brave girl with the red flame was the heart that kept their world burning bright.
