Max had a map, a backpack, and big plans. “This week,” he said, “I’ll ride new transport every day, based on syllables!”

Day 1: Max looked for one-syllable rides. “Let’s keep it short and speedy!” Max hopped on a train. Train! One syllable!

He rumbled along in a truck. "One beat is neat!" he laughed. Truck! One syllable!

Day 2: Time for two-syllable travel! Max zipped up his bag and headed out.

5. 4. 3. 2. 1. Lift off! Max launched into space in a rocket! Rock-et! Two syllables!

Next, Max flew an airplane through the sky. He soared between the clouds and did a loop-the-loop! Air-plane! Two syllables!

Day 3: Max wanted three-syllable adventures. “I think this one calls for something wild!”

He dove under the sea in a submarine. Bubbles popped all around. He looked out the window at the sea animals! Sub-ma-rine! Three syllables!

Back on land, he rode a bicycle around the park, ringing the bell as he passed by the ducks. Bi-cy-cle! Three syllables!

Day 4: Max tapped his paws. “Four syllables? That sounds like a challenge!”

Max buckled himself into a helicopter! He hovered off the ground and zoomed through the clouds. He-li-cop-ter! Four syllables!

Next, Max put on his helmet and jumped on a motorcycle. He took off with a roar and cruised through the streets. Mo-tor-cy-cle! Four syllables!

Day 5: Max was ready for a five-syllable adventure. But when he walked around, he did not see any transport with five syllables! He went to the park, but there were no five-syllable vehicles there.

Looking out at the street, Max couldn’t see any transport with five-syllables. “I guess I’ll walk home,” he sighed. Max sadly started to walk along the path.

Just then, Max heard a familiar beep. It was Dad, pulling up in a car! Max smiled. Car! One syllable! One-syllable transport was better than no transport at all!
