I walk across the school yard and hear “tap… tap…”. I want to know where it comes from.

I look left. Nothing.

I look right. Still nothing.

The “tap… tap…” is louder now! I start to worry.

I look down. Only my shoes.

I take one step… Tap!

I step again. Tap! It’s… my own heel!

I laugh out loud. “I scared myself!”

Sometimes a mystery is just something I didn’t notice.
