Hello! This is Mai. Today, Mai is putting on her hat and boots to explore the deep, green Jungle. The jungle is a place full of tall trees and hidden animals!
Mai looks up at the Canopy. The tops of the trees are so thick they look like a green roof. This "roof" protects the animals below from the heavy Rain and the hot sun.
High in the branches, Mai sees a Macaw. Macaws are large parrots with beautiful, bright Feathers. They use their strong beaks to crack open hard nuts and seeds.
Mai hears a loud sound! It is a family of Monkeys. They use their long arms and strong Tails to swing from vine to vine. They are very fast and love to eat sweet jungle fruits.
Hidden in the shadows is a Jaguar. The jaguar is a big cat with beautiful Spots called rosettes. It is very quiet and is an excellent swimmer and climber.
Mai looks closely at a branch and finds a Sloth. Sloths move very, very Slowly. They spend most of their lives hanging upside down and sleeping in the cool shade.
On the jungle floor, Mai finds giant Ferns and exotic flowers. Everything in the jungle grows very fast because there is so much water and Heat. The plants breathe out fresh air for the whole world.
Mai spots a long Snake resting on a log. Snakes in the jungle can be small or very big. They don't have legs, so they use their strong Muscles to slide across the ground.
Mai hears a "Ribbit!" and finds a tiny Tree Frog. It has bright colors and sticky Toe Pads that help it climb up slippery leaves without falling off.
Mai reaches a wide River flowing through the trees. Jungle rivers are full of life, from hungry crocodiles to pink dolphins. The water is the Life of the rainforest.
Mai learns that the jungle is in danger. People are cutting down too many trees. We must Protect the jungle so the animals can keep their homes.
What an adventure! Mai has seen so many amazing things. The jungle is a treasure for our planet. Which jungle animal would you like to meet?
