A story told from the perspective of the Sun, who learns a valuable lesson about balance when trying to help a little girl's garden. It highlights the importance of night and rain alongside sunshine for life to thrive.
<Light of the sun> I am the sun, and I am great. I have endless energy. I shine on all things, giving light and warmth to life on Earth, making everything lively and bright. Every day, I travel without stopping. I go to every place, and everyone who sees me is happy and praises my greatness.
One day, while passing over a valley, I saw a little girl. She had golden hair and rosy cheeks like tulips. Every day, she carefully tended to the flowers in her little garden. In her garden, there were bright red roses, elegant violets, and blue hyacinths.
When I appeared, her garden had just been through a heavy rain. The flowers were bowing their wet heads low. With the comfort of my light, the flowers lifted their faces again, shook off the raindrops, and stretched their petals.
The little girl said, "Ah, thank you, sun! You helped me." Then she gave me her brightest smile.
I loved her smile. I decided to stay in her garden and give all my energy to her. That way, her flowers would surely grow better and more beautiful. So from then on, her garden had only daytime, no more night; only sunny days, no more rain.
At first, everything was fine. But soon, the flowers began to wilt from the heat and dryness. The little girl kept carrying water from the well to water them, trip after trip. But no matter how hard she tried, it was no use.
Seeing her beautiful little garden about to turn barren, the girl sat on the ground, not knowing what to do, and cried sadly.
When I saw her tears, I felt sad too. A passing cloud saw everything and said to me, "Sun, your light and warmth can bring life, but too much can also bring death."
I asked the cloud in confusion, "Then what should I do?" The cloud said, "You will know. You are the great sun, after all."
I thought for a while, then reluctantly said goodbye to my little girl and set off on my journey again.
The cloud sprinkled precious raindrops over the girl's garden, and the flowers came back to life. The little girl smiled her bright smile again.
I watched her from far away, on the other side of the mountain, feeling a little sad. The cloud came to me again and comforted me, "You can come back again tomorrow."
"Will she still want to see me?" I asked in surprise. The cloud said, "Of course! You are the sun who brings life."
Finally, I understood. Every day, I travel everywhere so that everyone can enjoy light and warmth. But when night comes, I quietly leave, letting them enjoy restful, cool nights. Everyone is happy when I arrive, and they also feel relieved when I leave.
Best of all, I get to see my little girl and her lively garden every single day.
