Little Red Riding Hood

Once upon a time, there was a kind little girl who always wore a bright red hood her grandmother made. Everyone called her Little Red Riding Hood.

One morning, her mother said, “Take this basket of cakes to your grandmother. But stay on the path, my dear, and don’t talk to strangers.”

Red walked through the forest, humming a song. The trees whispered softly, and butterflies danced in the light.

Then, out from behind a tree, came a big gray wolf. “Good morning, little girl,” he said slyly. “Where are you going?”

To my grandmother’s house,” said Red politely. “She lives across the forest.” The wolf grinned. “How lovely. I’ll take a shortcut.”

The wolf ran fast through the woods and reached Grandmother’s house first. He knocked gently on the door.

Who is it?” called Grandmother. “It’s me, Little Red Riding Hood,” said the wolf sweetly. He slipped inside — and swallowed her whole!

Soon after, Red arrived. She knocked on the door and heard a strange voice say, “Come in, my dear…”

Grandmother, what big eyes you have!” said Red. “All the better to see you with, my dear,” growled the wolf. “And what big teeth you have!”The better to eat you with!” roared the wolf

Just then, a woodcutter passing by heard her scream. He rushed in, chased the wolf, and saved them both. Red hugged her grandmother tightly.

Be brave, be kind, but always be wise. Not every smile hides a friend.
