One Good Turn Deserves Another
This heartwarming tale follows a thirsty ant saved from drowning by a kind dove. Later, the ant repays the favor by rescuing the dove from a hunter, teaching children about the power of kindness, friendship, and how good deeds come full circle.
A little ant was very, very thirsty. He walked with tiny steps down to the river for a drink.
But the river rocks were slippery! "Oh no!" The little ant slipped and fell into the water! He couldn't swim, and he was very scared!
Luckily, a kind dove was sitting in a tree nearby. She saw the little ant in trouble.
"Don't worry, little ant!" The dove quickly plucked a leaf and dropped it gently into the water near him.
The ant scrambled onto the leaf boat. He was saved! He floated safely back to shore. "Thank you, Dove!" cried the little ant.
Just as the ant breathed a sigh of relief, he spotted a dangerous sight! A hunter was creeping up with a net, aiming for the unsuspecting dove!
"I must save my friend!" The brave little ant ran as fast as he could and bit the hunter's heel as hard as he could!
"OUCH! What was that?!" The hunter cried out in surprise and dropped his net. The noise woke the dove.
The dove immediately understood what had happened. She spread her wings and flew up into the sky. She was saved!
The dove flew back to the little ant. "Thank you, brave little friend, for saving me!" The ant smiled happily. "You helped me first!"
And from that day on, the ant and the dove are best friends. They learned that when you are kind to others, kindness often finds its way back to you. It's like a wonderful circle of friendship. Always remember: One good turn deserves another!
