Long ago, Fireflies did not glow. At night, they were just quiet little bugs.

But they were scared of the dark.

“Too many shadows!” said one.

“Too quiet!” said another.

“What if something big is watching us?” whispered a third.

So they huddled together, shivering under leaves.

Then Little Firefly had an idea.

“I’ll make a night light!” she said.

She gathered shiny things—raindrops, snail shells, bits of spider silk.

She stuck them on her back with honey. “Ta-da!”

The moonlight hit the pieces—TWINKLE!

“Wow!” said the other fireflies. “You look like the stars!”

They all wanted some. Soon, every firefly had sparkles stuck to them.

Giraffe saw them and gasped. “The stars are flying!”

Monkey danced below. “Look at the sky bugs!”

Even Owl blinked. “Beautiful.”

The fireflies looked at each other. They felt proud. They felt brave.

And from that night on, they lit up the dark—not because they were afraid, but because they found the light inside.

(But of course, this is just a sweet little tale. Real fireflies glow with science, not snail shells!)
