פרטי סיפור

There was a family: Dad, Mom,and little Rose.

The weather was beautiful today. Dad said, "Let's all go for a drive together!"

The happy family of three jumped into the car and set off.

Their car drove and drove for a long time. They enjoyed the beautiful scenery along the way, and everyone was very happy.

It wasn't until the sky turned dark that they arrived in front of a huge castle. The castle glowed in the darkness, like a fortress of the sun.

They hadn't eaten anything, so everyone's stomachs were growling with hunger. They decided to go inside the castle to see if there was any food.

The family walked into the castle's great hall. It was golden and shiny! A long table held thirty big plates, and each plate was piled high with delicious food.

They were so hungry that they started to eat.

Suddenly, a big crowd of rainbow monsters rushed into the hall—about thirty of them! These rainbow monsters looked very strange indeed: Some had eight sharp teeth, while others had no teeth at all. Some had two arms and three legs, others had three arms and six legs. Some had tails, some did not. Some had stripes on their bodies, others had polka dots. Some had wings, some had no wings. They also had horns on their heads in all sorts of colors. Each one was quite scary.

One of the rainbow monsters said angrily to the family, "Where did you come from? How rude to eat our food without asking! The Rainbow Monster King will punish you! He will stew you all into soup!"

The family was terrified. Dad answered, trembling, "We're sorry, we were just so hungry. Please tell the Rainbow Monster King we are very sorry."

The rainbow monster said, "Unless you can guess which one of us is the Rainbow Monster King, we will stew you all into soup! We'll give you seven guesses. If you guess right, we'll let you go!"

There were thirty rainbow monsters, but they only had seven guesses! How could they possibly figure out which one was the Rainbow Monster King?

Dad and Mom looked at each other. Neither felt sure they could guess correctly. But little Rose, stepped forward bravely and said, "I am smart! I can guess which one is the Rainbow Monster King!"

The rainbow monsters laughed loudly. They said, "You little bragger! Go ahead and guess. You only have seven chances. If you're wrong, you're finished!"

Little Rose said, "Okay, here is my first guess. Does the King have pink horns?" The rainbow monsters were surprised. "Yes, the King does have pink horns."

Little Rose said, "I guess the King has three arms?" This time the rainbow monsters laughed. "Wrong! The King only has two arms! We knew you couldn't do it."

Unworried, Little Rose continued, "I guess the King has two legs?" The rainbow monsters stopped smiling. "He actually does have two legs. That's right."

Little Rose said, "I guess the King has polka dots?" The rainbow monsters shook their heads and laughed again. "Wrong, wrong! The King has no polka dots! You guessed wrong! Now you only have three chances left."

Little Rose said, "I guess the King has a tail?" The rainbow monsters laughed even more proudly. "The King does not have a tail! You only have two chances left now."

Little Rose said, "I guess the King needs wings to fly up high." The rainbow monsters rubbed their hands together gleefully. "Wrong again! You have just one last chance!"

Little Rose looked carefully at the two monsters left in front of her. One had eight teeth, the other had no teeth. The monster with no teeth quickly covered its mouth.

Little Rose said, "I guess the King is this one: He has pink horns, two arms, two legs, stripes on his body, no wings, and no teeth!"

The rainbow monsters cried out, "Waaah! She guessed it! How did she do it? It's unbelievable!"

Little Rose said to the King, "Please keep your promise and let us go!" The Rainbow Monster King had no choice but to let the family leave.

As soon as they got back into their car, they quickly drove home.

Dad and Mom thanked Little Rose.

"You are the smartest and bravest!" Dad said to her. "But how did you know the King had no teeth?"

Little Rose replied, "It was simple! Because at the very beginning, they said they would stew us into soup to drink! If the King had lots of teeth, he wouldn't need to spend so much time making stew!"
