Hello! This is Mai. Today, it is raining outside. Pitter-patter, pitter-patter!
Mai finds a bright yellow umbrella in the hallway. When she opens it, she feels her feet lift off the ground. She has found a Magic Umbrella that can fly!
First, Mai learns about Balance. She holds the handle tightly and leans to the left. The umbrella glides through the air like a big yellow bird. Mai realizes that she can go anywhere as long as she holds on with both hands.
Next, Mai flies over the Garden. She looks down and sees the flowers drinking the rain. She learns about Growth. The rain is like a cool drink for the roses and the grass. Everything looks very green and fresh from high up in the sky.
Suddenly, a Little Bird flies next to her. It is a blue robin with wet feathers. Mai learns about Kindness. She holds her big umbrella over the bird to keep it dry. The bird chirps a happy song to say "Thank you!"
Now, Mai flies into a White Cloud. It feels cold and misty, like being inside a big ball of cotton candy. She learns about Clouds. Up close, they are just tiny drops of water floating in the air. She giggles as the mist tickles her nose.
Mai sees a Rainbow appearing in the distance. She learns about Sunlight. Even when it rains, the sun is hiding behind the clouds. When the sun peeks out, it makes the raindrops sparkle with seven beautiful colors.
The wind blows a little harder. The umbrella spins around! Mai learns about Direction. She uses the wind to zoom fast toward the park. She feels the cool air on her face and feels very brave and fast.
Mai looks down and sees a Big Puddle. She wants to make a splash! She glides down slowly and lands right in the middle. Splosh! She learns about Gravity. What goes up must come down, and landing in water is the most fun way to stop.
Next, Mai sees a Frog sitting on a lily pad. The frog is happy because it loves the wet weather. Mai learns about Habitats. Different animals like different kinds of weather. She waves her hand, and the frog says "Ribbit!"
The rain begins to stop. The sky turns a soft blue. Mai learns about Changes. The magic umbrella slowly stops floating as the clouds go away. She realizes that the magic only happens when the rain is falling.
Mai walks back to her house. She shakes the water off her yellow umbrella. She learns about Care. She closes the umbrella carefully and puts it in the stand to dry. She wants to keep it nice for the next rainy day.
Finally, Mai looks out the window. She sees the sun shining on the wet leaves. She learns about Beauty. The world looks clean and sparkly after a rainstorm. She feels happy that she had a secret trip in the sky.
Mai’s umbrella adventure is finished. She goes to the kitchen to have a cup of warm milk. She realized that rainy days are not boring; they are full of magic and flying. If you had a magic umbrella, would you fly to the top of a mountain or to a castle in the clouds?
