Hello! This is Leo. Today, Leo is traveling back in time thousands of years to Ancient Egypt. He wants to discover the secrets of the giant stone Pyramids!

The pyramids were built as tombs for the Pharaohs, the kings and queens of Egypt. The Egyptians believed that after the pharaohs died, they would live again in a magical Afterlife.

How were they built? The pyramids are made of millions of huge Limestone blocks. Each block is very heavy! Thousands of workers used ropes and ramps to pull the stones into place without any modern machines.

Guarding the pyramids is the Great Sphinx. It is a giant statue with the body of a Lion and the head of a Human. It has been watching over the desert for a very long time!

Inside the pyramids, there are secret rooms and long Tunnels. The pharaohs were buried with golden jewelry, beautiful clothes, and even food to take with them to the afterlife.

The Egyptians didn't use an alphabet like ours. They used Hieroglyphs! Hieroglyphs are pictures of birds, snakes, and eyes that represent words and sounds. It is like reading a story made of Emojis.

The pyramids were built near the River Nile. The Nile is the longest river in the world. It gave the Egyptians water for their crops and allowed them to move heavy stones on large Boats.

To keep the pharaoh's body safe, they made a Mummy. The body was wrapped in long strips of linen cloth. This helped the body last for thousands of years!

Did you know the pyramids are perfectly aligned with the Stars? The Egyptians were great scientists and astronomers. They used the sky to help them build their monuments in the right direction.

Leo sees an Egyptian writing on Papyrus. Papyrus is a plant that grows near the river. The Egyptians turned it into the world's first kind of Paper to write down their laws and stories.

For a long time, many pyramids were buried under the Sand. Archaeologists have to dig very carefully to find them. There are still many secrets hidden under the desert today!

Leo has learned so much! Ancient Egypt was a land of magic, science, and giant buildings. Would you like to be a pharaoh or an explorer?
