Mother’s Red Scarf
The winter wind was cold, and the snow was deep. A little boy thought his mother’s red scarf was too old, too red. Until one day, he grew too cold to walk through the storm. Then, a red light appeared — and led him back into his mother’s warm embrace. This is a story about love, light, and the warmth of home — for in the coldest winter, the warmest thing of all is a mother’s love, and the red scarf that carries it.
Mother’s Red Scarf
Winter had come, and the town’s wind made everyone shrink inside their coats.
Every morning, Mom would wrap that red scarf around my neck.
But I didn’t like it. It was too old. Too red.
All the other children had new hats and scarves.
One day, when Mom wasn’t watching, I changed it for a blue one.
I thought I looked much better.
After school, the snow came down harder, and the wind hurt my face.
That blue scarf wasn’t warm at all.
I was cold and afraid. Suddenly, I saw a red light flickering in the snow ahead.
It was Mom! She was holding a lantern and wearing that red scarf, walking toward me through the snow.
Mom wiped the snow from my face and put the red scarf back around my neck.
“With this, you’ll never be cold again,” Mom said softly.
Since that day, I knew that even red could glow.
No matter how strong the wind, or how thick the snow, that scarf always carries the warmth of home.
That red scarf always shone so bright.
Mom’s red scarf was the warmest light in winter.
