Barnaby the bat dangled. He loved his upside-down naps. But oh, how he wondered! What did the world look like, right-side up?

He twitched his nose. "Squirrel!" he squeaked. "What do trees look like, standing up?"

Squeaky, the squirrel, scampered down the trunk. "Trees?" she chattered. "They are big, brown legs! They hold up the sky-floor. And nuts fall down, down, down!"

Barnaby blinked. Big brown legs? He hung a little lower.

A blue flash zipped by. "Bird!" Barnaby called. "What does the ground look like, right-side up?"

Chirper, the bird, landed on a branch. "The ground?" she chirped. "Oh, it's a giant green blanket! Full of yummy wiggly worms! And the sky is a blue, blue roof, far, far above!"

Barnaby flapped slightly. A green blanket with worms? This was very confusing.

Then he saw him. "Monkey!" Barnaby yelled. "What does everything look like, right-side up?"

Milo, the monkey, swung from a vine. He grinned. "Everything?" he hooted. "It's a big, jumbly playground! The sun is a bright yellow ball, way up high. And bananas grow up, up, up!"

Barnaby sighed. Big legs, green blankets, jumbly playgrounds. He looked down at his world, hanging perfectly. The leaves were bright green roofs. The ground was a soft, brown sky. His own world felt just right. He closed his eyes, a happy, upside-down bat.
