Join Professor Percy the penguin as he conducts fun experiments to explore how our five senses work. This engaging story teaches children about hearing, touch, smell, taste, and sight, encouraging them to be observant and understand the world around them.
Hello! This is Professor Percy the little Penguin. Professor Percy loves doing fun experiments to learn how our five senses really work!
Professor Percy has a Mystery Box. Inside, there are small toys. He shakes the box! He uses his Ears to Hear the sounds. Rattle! Clink!
Percy hears a low Thump. He guesses it's a big block! He hears a high Tinkle. He guesses it's a small bell! Using our hearing helps us guess what is hidden!
Next, Percy puts on a Blindfold so he cannot use his eyes. He uses his Hands to Touch two things: a rough piece of sandpaper and a smooth, soft cloud.
Percy closes his eyes and Feels the Textures. The rough sandpaper feels bumpy and scratchy. The smooth cloud feels soft and even. Touching helps us know how things feel without seeing.
Percy has three jars. Each jar has something different inside! He closes his eyes and uses his Nose to Smell each one.
Jar One smells sweet and minty! It is toothpaste. Jar Two smells like baked bread! Jar Three smells like a sour lemon! Smelling helps us identify hidden things.
Percy tries two small cups. This is the Taste test! Cup One is very Sweet—it's honey! Cup Two is very Sour—it's pickle juice!
For the final test, Percy uses his Eyes only. He looks at a giant picture made up of only tiny dots. He learns that his brain uses his eyes to put pieces together!
Percy learned that one sense can help another. If the music is loud (Ears), he knows to look up to see the band (Eyes).
Professor Percy loves being observant! Using all five senses makes him a super-explorer and helps him understand the world's mysteries.
Happy, listening, smelling, tasting, and touching! Now you know how to be a sense scientist too. What fun mystery can you solve with your five amazing senses?
