Max had an important job at the Animal Parade. He had to say the name of each animal.

Max took a deep breath, ready to speak and… HIC! “Oh no,” he said. “Not now!” HICCUP!

Max had the hiccups! But, he started the show. “Welcome to the Animal Parade!”

Max pointed to the first animal. “This animal has a long neck,” he said. “It’s a gi… HICCUP!...”

Max could only say the first part of the word! “It’s a gi… HICCUP!” What is the next part of the word?

Yes! It’s a gi… raffe. A giraffe!

The next animal walked on stage. “This animal swims in icy, cold places,” he said. “It’s a pen… HICCUP!...”

Max took a deep breath. “This animal has a big, toothy grin. It’s a croc… HICCUP! … o… HICCUP!”
