Hello! This is Tiny. He is a small red crab with two big, friendly claws. Today, the beach is sunny and the sand is warm. Tiny wants to build something amazing. He decides to build the Greatest Sandcastle in the world!
First, Tiny starts to dig. He learns about Foundations. He uses his claws like small shovels to make a flat, strong base. "A good house needs a strong floor!" says Tiny. He pats the wet sand until it is firm and smooth.
Next, Tiny finds an Old Bucket. He learns about Shapes. He fills the bucket with wet sand and turns it upside down: Flip! Now he has a tall, round tower. Tiny is so happy; he dances a little sideways jig.
Now, Tiny looks for Decoration. He learns about Beauty. He finds a shiny purple shell and places it on top of the tower. It looks like a royal crown. "My castle needs to sparkle!" thinks Tiny.
Suddenly, a Big Wave comes close. Tiny learns about Protection. He quickly builds a wall of sand around his castle. The water touches the wall but doesn't break the tower. Phew! That was a close call.
Next, Tiny meets Sally the Seagull. He learns about Height. Sally flies high and looks down. "Your castle looks like a palace from the sky, Tiny!" she chirps. Tiny feels very proud of his hard work.
Now, Tiny finds a Piece of Seaweed. He learns about Flags. He sticks the green seaweed on a small twig and puts it on the highest tower. The wind blows, and the flag waves hello to the ocean.
Suddenly, it starts to Drizzle. Tiny learns about Texture. The light rain makes the sand sticky and easy to mold. Tiny adds small balconies and tiny windows to his castle. It looks like a magical fairy home.
Next, Tiny finds a Smooth Sea Glass. He learns about Light. The glass is green and clear. He puts it in a window, and the sun shines through it, making the inside of the castle glow like a green lantern.
Now, the sun begins to Set. Tiny learns about Patience. He knows that tomorrow the tide will come and wash the castle away. But Tiny is not sad. "I can build a new one even better tomorrow!" he says.
The moon comes out, and the Stars twinkle. Tiny learns about Rest. He crawls into a small hole near his castle. He is tired but very happy. He listens to the song of the waves: Shhh-shhh.
Finally, Tiny falls asleep. He learns about Dreams. In his dream, his sandcastle turns into a real golden palace where all the sea animals come to play. Tiny’s claws twitch as he dreams of tomorrow's beach.
Tiny’s sand adventure is finished. He tells the moon, "I built a kingdom today!" He realized that The joy is in the making, not just the keeping. If you were at the beach, would you build a tall tower or a deep moat?
