Historie

Hello! This is Mai. Today, she is lying on the green grass, looking up at the sky. The clouds look like soft, white pillows. "I wish I could fly up there," says Mai.

Suddenly, a gentle breeze lifts her up! She feels as light as a feather. Whoosh! Now, Mai is sitting right on top of a big, fluffy Cloud.

First, Mai meets Cirrus, the wispy cloud. She learns about Height. Cirrus is very thin and stays very high in the sky. "I am made of tiny ice crystals," whispers Cirrus. "I can see the whole world from up here!" Mai looks down and sees her house looking like a tiny toy.

Next, Mai meets Cumulus, the puffy cloud. She learns about Shapes. Cumulus looks like a giant piece of popcorn or a white sheep. "Watch me!" says Cumulus. It changes from a sheep into a dragon, then into a flower. Mai uses her hands to shape a cloud into a little cat.

Now, Mai meets the Grey Cloud. She learns about Weight. This cloud is heavy and dark. "I am full of water drops," says the cloud. "When I get too heavy, I give the earth a cool drink." Mai feels the damp air and realizes that rain is just a cloud sharing its water.

Suddenly, a Rainbow appears. She learns about Light. The sun shines through the rain drops, and seven colors stretch across the sky. Mai walks on the rainbow bridge. It feels like walking on a path of colorful silk.

Next, Mai hears the Wind’s Song. She learns about Travel. The wind blows the clouds across the ocean and over the mountains. "We never stay in one place," say the clouds. Mai feels the cool air moving her "cloud-boat" toward the distant sea.

Now, Mai sees the Sunset Clouds. She learns about Colors. As the sun goes down, the white clouds turn into pink, orange, and purple. It looks like the sky is on fire! "We are wearing our evening dresses," giggles a pink cloud.

Suddenly, a Thunder Cloud rumbles. She learns about Power. Boom! The cloud is very big and strong. "Don't be scared, Mai. I am just clearing the air," says the cloud. Mai sees a flash of lightning like a bright lightbulb in the sky.

Next, Mai sees the City Lights from above. She learns about Perspective. The tiny yellow lights look like stars on the ground. She realizes that the world is beautiful from both below and above. Every little light is a home where someone is happy.

Now, it is time for the Moon to Wake Up. She learns about Night. The clouds become silver under the moonlight. They look like ghosts dancing in the dark sky. Mai feels very sleepy as the clouds wrap around her like a warm blanket.

The breeze Brings Mai Down. She learns about Returning. Slowly and gently, the wind carries Mai back to her garden. She lands softly on the grass. The clouds wave their "arms" to say goodbye as they float away into the night.

Then, Mai looks at her Bedroom Window. She learns about Wonder. She realized that the sky is not empty; it is a busy world of water, ice, and magic. She knows that her cloud friends are always there, even when she can't see them.

Finally, Mai tells her Dad about the trip. She learns about Nature. Dad explains how clouds make rain for the trees. Mai realized that The clouds are the sky’s messengers, bringing water and beauty to everyone.

If you could talk to a cloud, would you ask it to turn into a dragon or a castle?
