Lila and th Sun. Who Knows EVeryhing

Lila walked outside.A warm voice called, “Hello, Little One.I’m the Sun.”

“I’m a star, just like the ones you see at night—I’m just much, MUCH closer.”

“ Lila said. The Sun laughed softly. “That’s because I make light.”

“I shine by burning hot gases. My surface is 5,500°C. That’s hotter than anything on Earth!”

My light travels 299,792 km each second.

It reaches you in only 8 minutes.”

“I help your body make Vitamin D, so your bones grow strong!” Lila wiggled in the sunlight!”

“I help plants grow, too. Without me, flowers, trees, and vegetables can’t live.” Lila looked at the garden and waved.

“I also help people make electricity from my light! Solar panels catch my rays and turn them into energy for homes and schools.

Lila held a mirror. A bright spot danced on the grass. She giggled.

“My light can bounce off shiny things. That’s called reflection.”

A cloud drifted by. Everything got softer and gray.

Clouds don’t stop me—they only block some of my light.

Evening stretched in pink and gold. Lila gasped.

“In the evening, my blue light scatters away —so the warm colors stay. That’s a sunset.”

Night crept in. Stars shimmered.

“I never truly leave. Earth just turns, and you face the dark side.”

The Sun curled beside her.“Sleep well, Little One. I’ll shine your way tomorrow.”
