Story Details

In a little village, there was a tiny rabbit named Pipi. Pipi loved looking at the moon. It was big, round, and shiny.
“I want to touch the moon,” Pipi said every night. “It looks so soft!”

One night, Pipi had an idea.
“I’m going to find the moon!” Pipi said. She packed a carrot for a snack and a blanket to keep warm.

Pipi hopped to a big tree where Olily the owl lived. Olily was very wise. “Hi, Olily!” Pipi said. “How can I touch the moon?” Olily opened her big, round eyes. “The moon is very far away, little Pipi. But you can try climbing the tallest tree in the forest.”

Pipi found the tallest tree. Its branches reached high into the sky. Pipi climbed up, up, up! The wind tickled her ears. But at the top, the moon was still far away. “Hi, moon!” Pipi called. “Can you come closer?”

The moon didn’t answer. It just kept glowing in the sky. Pipi felt sad and climbed down slowly.

At the bottom of the tree, Pipi met a shiny firefly named Koko. “Why are you sad, Pipi?” Koko asked. “I want to touch the moon, but it’s too far,” Pipi said.

Koko’s tiny light blinked as she thought. “I know a way!” Koko said. “Follow me!” Koko led Pipi to the river. The water was still and shiny, like a big mirror.

“Look!” Koko said. “There’s the moon!” Pipi’s eyes grew big. The moon was in the water. She hopped to the edge of the river.

Pipi reached out with her paw. The water felt cool and soft. “I can touch it!” Pipi laughed. But then—SPLASH! Pipi slipped and fell into the water.

Koko flew above her, giggling. “Are you okay, Pipi?” Pipi swam to the shore. She was all wet but still smiling. “I touched the moon!” she said.

Just then, Olily the owl flew over. “You found the moon in a new way,” Olily said. “Sometimes, what we dream of is closer than we think.”

Pipi looked at the moon in the sky and its reflection in the river. “I don’t need to touch the moon anymore,” Pipi said. “I already felt its magic.”

From that night on, Pipi didn’t sit alone by the river. Koko lit up the night, and Olily told stories. Together, they watched the moon and laughed under its soft, glowing light.

Pipi smiled at the moon. “You’re my friend now,” she said. And with that, she snuggled into her blanket and fell asleep, dreaming of more adventures to come.
