Max and the Three Bears
Max finds the home of three bears in the woods and decides to go exploring.
Once upon a time in a forest sunny and bright, Lived Max the rabbit, a curious sight. He was hopping through the trees, feeling so free, When he spotted a house, oh, whose could it be?
He knocked on the door, but didn’t hear any sound, No one was home! He went in to look around! The house belonged to the Bear family, Mama Bear, Papa Bear, and little Baby.
Mama had made porridge, but it was too hot to chew, So they went for a walk to admire the view. Leaving the porridge to cool in the breeze, Max’s tummy rumbled, he thought, "Yes please!"
Max tasted the first bowl, "Ouch! It is too hot!" The next was too cold, he spat it out on the spot! But the third bowl was perfect, it tasted so good! "Mmm, this is yum!” Max ate as much as he could!
After all that porridge, Max needed to rest. He saw three chairs and thought, “Which would be best?” The first was too big, too high and too wide, The second too soft, he sank right inside.
The third was just right, so he leaned back, But then Max heard a creak and a crack! The chair broke apart with a big, loud sound, And Max tumbled to the floor with a thud on the ground!
Next he walked up the stairs and saw three beds The perfect place for resting tired heads! The first was too hard, too firm to sleep, The second was too soft, the pillows too deep! The third was just right, so he lay down with glee, And soon fell asleep, as peaceful as can be!
Just then, the bears walked back in through the door. "Someone’s been eating my porridge!" Papa said with a roar. "Someone’s been eating my porridge!" Mama Bear sighed. "Someone ate all my porridge!" Baby Bear cried!
The three bears took a closer look around, "Someone’s been sitting in my chair!" Papa frowned. "Someone’s been sitting in my chair!" Mama shrieked. "Someone has broken my chair!" Baby Bear squeaked!
"Someone’s been sleeping in my bed!" said Papa quite mad. "Someone’s been sleeping in my bed!" said Mama feeling sad. "Someone’s been sleeping in my bed!" said Baby Bear. Looking closer he shouted, “They are still there!”
Max jumped out of the bed, as quick as a flash, And ran to the doorway ready to dash. “Wait!’ yelled Baby Bear, “there’s no need to run! We are just surprised by the things you have done.”
Max quickly realized that he had been rude. Entering, breaking chairs and eating their food. “I am so sorry,” Max apologized with a tear. I was only curious to see who lived here.”
The bears were very kind and replied with a smile, “It’s ok, why don’t you join us for a while?” The family had lots of snacks and stories to share, And Max even helped to fix Baby Bear’s chair!
Max had a great day with the friends he just met, And he learned a lesson he wouldn’t soon forget. Don’t enter people’s houses when they are away. Wait for them to be home. It’s more fun that way!
