Broccoli wants to send a gift across the forest but learns it needs special stamps to move. With help from Four and some speedy chipmunks, he discovers that sending something always takes energy and the right tools to make it happen.
Broccoli held a small wrapped box with a blue ribbon. “It’s a thank-you gift for Bubble the Beaver,” he said. “She helped fix our bridge!” “She lives across the river,” said Four. “You’ll need the Forest Mail Trail!” Broccoli grinned. “Easy-peasy!”
At the big forest mailbox, Broccoli slipped the gift inside. A squirrel mail-runner popped out. “Stamp?” “Stamp?” Broccoli blinked. “What stamp?” “No forest stamp, no delivery,” said the squirrel, crossing his arms.
Broccoli stomped his paw. “But it’s just a gift! Why can’t it go for free?” Four laughed. “Moving things through the forest takes energy. Forest stamps help messengers get from here to there. No stamp, no steps!”
They hurried to a small wooden shop shaped like a mushroom. Inside, a wise old turtle ran the stamp stand. “Going far?” he asked. “Yep! All the way to Beaver Lake.” “Then you’ll need three forest stamps,” the turtle said.
“Why does it cost more to go farther?” asked Broccoli. The turtle smiled. “Some paths are rocky, others smooth. Some take extra helpers to carry your package.” “Like hills and rivers and squirrels with snacks?” “Exactly!”
With stamps in paw, Broccoli handed over the gift again. WHOOSH! A team of chipmunks zipped by, grabbing it with tiny gliders. “It’s flying through the forest!” “Thanks to those stamps!” said Four.
Later that day, the chipmunks returned. “Too many packages today,” one said. “We had to wait our turn!” Broccoli frowned. “So even with stamps, it can slow down?” Four nodded. “Especially on busy days!”
The next morning, Broccoli got a message: “Dear Broccoli, thank you! The bracelet is beautiful. Come visit soon! – Bubble” Broccoli wagged his tail. “She got it!” “Thanks to the right stamps,” said Four.
Broccoli made a sign outside the mailbox: “Don’t forget your stamps – every trip takes effort!” Animals nodded as they passed. Even the squirrel gave a tiny thumbs-up.
As the sun set, Broccoli looked at Four. “It makes sense now. Just like we need snacks to run, the forest needs stamps to move things.” Four smiled. “Whether it’s gifts or games nothing travels for free.” They headed home, leaves crunching under happy paws.
