Story Details

When night falls, Niannian, the orange kitten, hates sleeping the most. Mom says, “Time to snuggle into bed!” But Niannian opens its big eyes wide and says, “I’m not sleepy yet! I want to watch the dancing curtain shadows and listen to the cricket’s concert outside!”

This night, Mom comes to urge Niannian to sleep again. Niannian’s paws itch with curiosity. It sneaks out through the window, eager to explore the mysterious night world.

Niannian is overjoyed! It bounds through the garden, chasing the twinkling fireflies for what seems like hours.

Niannian climbs the tall fence, eager to see the fun next door. Little does it know, danger is lurking...

Suddenly, Niannian’s foot slips! “Ouch!” It tumbles into the bushes. The twigs scratch its paws, and it cries out, “Meow, meow!”

Surrounded by darkness, Niannian is terrified. It calls for Mom, its voice quivering. Just then, a ray of light appears...

From then on, every night, Niannian goes to bed without a fuss. It knows that only by getting a good night’s sleep can it live up to Mom’s love. This is the happiest night adventure of all!
