Story Details

'Wolf! Wolf!' The Shepherd-boy cried out, calling the villagers even though there was no wolf. He laughed when they came running to help!

The villagers came to help him three or four times, but the Shepherd-boy only laughed at their pains.

But the Wolf really did come at last, quietly sneaking near the sheep as the day turned to sunset.

'Please, come and help me! The Wolf is killing the sheep!' the Shepherd-boy yelled in terror, but nobody came to help this time.

The Shepherd-boy felt sad and learned his big lesson: if you lie too much, people won’t believe you when you really need help.
