Chasing the Perfect Rose
In this charming story, young Jerry explores a vibrant garden filled with roses, searching for the perfect one. He hesitates to pick a lavender rose, leading to regret. Mr. Thomas teaches him the value of appreciating choices and finding happiness.
Mr. Thomas, the kind teacher, has a special assignment for his student. "Today, you will find the perfect rose in the garden!" he says with a smile. He explains that the rose doesn’t need to be the biggest or the most beautiful. It just needs to be the ONE that speaks to your heart. "Go and find the rose that you think looks the best for you! And remember, you cannot look back."
Jerry, the little boy, stands at the entrance of the magical rose garden. He looks up at the vast space filled with all kinds of beautiful roses. Excitement and a little nervousness bubble inside him as he steps in. The sweet smell of blooming roses fills the air, and he hears the buzzing of bees, the fluttering of butterflies, and the cheerful songs of birds.
Jerry wanders through the garden, amazed by the bright colors and different shapes of the roses. He sees red, pink, yellow, and white roses, each with its own special charm. He gently picks a few petals from a nearby rose and admires their softness. But deep down, he knows he must keep searching for the perfect one.
As Jerry explores deeper into the garden, he happily picks a pink rose, thinking it’s perfect. He wonders about the stories behind this rose and why it’s so beautiful. Excited, Jerry runs to show his teacher what he has found!
Jerry discovers a hidden corner of the garden, where sunlight filters through the leaves, making everything feel magical. There, he finds a special rose unlike the others—a delicate lavender rose with a beautiful purple swirl pattern. Jerry feels a strong connection to this rose, as it seems to glow beautifully in the sunlight.
With the lavender rose carefully held in his hands, Jerry makes his way out of the garden. This rose sparkles and speaks to his heart, making him feel proud and excited to share his special discovery with Mr. Thomas. As he walks through the garden one last time, everything seems to sparkle with joy.
As Jerry gets ready to leave the garden, he spots a big red rose! He drops the lavender rose on the ground and quickly picks up the red rose. "This is perfect! I found it!" he exclaims with excitement.
Jerry tries to find his way out of the garden as the sky turns dark before dawn. The red rose looks a little dried out and dull. He decides to toss it away, believing he will find another beautiful rose on his way out.
Jerry finds the exit of the garden as it gets dark. He quickly runs toward the house to find Mr. Thomas.
Mr. Thompson asks Jerry, "Did you find the perfect rose?" "YES! I saw many beautiful roses in the garden, but I couldn't find the perfect one," Jerry replies. Mr. Thompson smiles. "There’s no perfect rose. Just find the one that speaks to your heart." Jerry says, "Yes, the lavender rose! Let me go back to show you." Mr. Thompson shakes his head. "You can’t go back. You can only pick one rose and keep walking forward." Feeling regret, Jerry sighs. "I wish I had picked the lavender rose." Mr. Thompson gently replies, "Sometimes, it's good to appreciate what we have. Being happy with one special rose is better than wanting more."
