His yellow T-shirt has samba drum patterns, and he wears a bracelet with a capoeira charm. “Oi!” he says, smiling. “What does that mean?” I ask, curious. “Hello, my friend!” he replies. His cheer warms my heart, and we leap into Brazilian culture!
