Story Details

In a quiet pond lived a green turtle named Shelly. He moved slowly but had a big smile.

Every day, Shelly said hello to his friends: Frog, Duck, and Fish. They all played together.

One morning, a strong wind blew. A baby duck named Quack got stuck on a high lily pad far from shore.

Quack cried, “Help! I can’t swim back!” Frog tried to jump but was too far. Duck tried to swim but the wind pushed her away.

Shelly heard the cries. “I am slow, but I can help,” he said. He started swimming straight to the lily pad.

Fish swam ahead and said, “Follow me, Shelly! I’ll show the calm path.” Shelly nodded and kept going.

Frog jumped from pad to pad and made a bridge with sticks. “Step here, Shelly!” he called.

Duck pushed a big leaf with her beak. “Use this as a boat!” she quacked. Shelly climbed on.

Together, they moved the leaf boat. Shelly held Quack gently in his front legs. “I’ve got you,” he said softly.

They reached the shore. Quack jumped into his mom’s wings. “Thank you, Shelly!” he cheered.

Frog, Fish, and Duck clapped. “You saved the day, Shelly!” they said. Shelly felt proud and warm inside.

From then on, everyone knew Shelly was the bravest helper, even if he was the slowest.

Every evening, they sat together and told the story of the rescue. Quack never forgot his hero.

Shelly learned that helping friends is the best thing to do, no matter how small or slow you are.

Whenever someone needed help, Shelly was there with his kind heart and steady steps.

And the pond was always full of love and teamwork because of the helpful turtle. The end.
