The Lighthouse Keeper’s Light
At the edge of the sea, stood a tall old lighthouse with a golden glow. Inside lived a boy named Leo, who loved the stars and the sea.
Every night, Leo helped his father polish the lamp. “When the storm comes,” his father said, “our light must never go out.”
Leo loved watching ships far away, their lights flickering like fireflies on the sea. He dreamed of being a sailor one day.
One winter night, dark clouds gathered. The wind howled, and the waves rose high. A terrible storm was coming.
Suddenly, the great lamp flickered… then went out. “The flame is gone!” said Leo’s father. But the wind was too strong to climb the tower again.
Leo looked out at the black sea. Somewhere out there, a ship was lost and needed their light.
He grabbed his small lantern and began to climb step by step, through the roaring wind.
At the top, he relit the great lamp with his tiny flame. The light burst through the storm a shining path across the dark sea.
Far away, a ship saw the beam. The captain turned the wheel and steered to safety. Leo’s light had saved them.
When morning came, the sea was calm again. The sailors continued their journey, while Leo and his father waved to them from above.
That night, Leo sat in the tower again. He looked at the stars and whispered, “The sea is never dark when kindness shines.”
Even the smallest light can guide others home. Bravery begins with one spark of kindness.
