Story Details

Lucy the pixie woke up with a start. Usually, her wings shimmered with rainbow colors, bright as a summer meadow. But today? They were dull, a muddy brown, just like the sky outside her tiny acorn home. A big, grey blanket stretched across everything! Lucy stomped her tiny foot. This wouldn't do!

She zipped out, her brown wings barely fluttering. “Why are you so grumpy, sky?” she demanded, her voice a squeak. The clouds just sat there, heavy and silent.

Lucy zoomed higher, her courage bubbling. She bumped a round, puffy cloud. "Speak to me!" she chirped. A tiny *drip* splattered on her nose. She giggled, a surprising sound.

Lucy flew to another cloud, even bigger and grayer. She poked it with her finger. *Drip-drop!* More tiny drops tickled her head. “Oh!” she gasped, her confusion starting to melt away. This was new!

She flew higher still, to the biggest, darkest cloud she could find. She gave it a gentle push. *Plink! Plonk!* A little shower rained down around her. Her brown wings began to sparkle, just a little, with wet silver. Lucy felt a warmth spread through her tiny chest.

The sky wasn't grumpy at all! It was just… washing itself clean.

She danced through the falling droplets, her wings now glowing with soft, watery colors. Each *drip* felt like a little secret being shared. The grey sky wasn't sad; it was making magic!

And Lucy, with her wings now a gentle, shimmering blue, understood. The world hummed with a quiet, wonderful rhythm, even on a cloudy day.
