The Little Elephant and the Cloud On a warm morning in the savanna, a little elephant named Kaka walked to the river. The sun was hot, and the ground was dry.
He looked up and whispered, “I wish there was a cloud to give me shade.”
A tiny white cloud drifted by and heard him. “Hello!” the cloud called softly. “Do you need some help?”
Kaka smiled. “Yes, I’m too hot.”
The cloud floated lower and covered him with cool shade.
Every day after that, the little elephant and the cloud met at the river. Kaka splashed water while the cloud changed shapes— sometimes a bird, sometimes a big funny hat.
They laughed together all afternoon.
But one day, the wind blew stronger. The cloud started to drift away.
“I don’t want to leave!” the cloud cried.
Kaka ran as fast as he could, but the wind carried her higher. “Come back!” he shouted. “You’re my best friend!”
“I will return,” the cloud called, her voice fading. “When the rain falls, you’ll know I’m near.”
Weeks passed. The ground turned dry again.
Then one afternoon, raindrops touched Kaka’s nose.
He looked up and smiled. The little cloud had come back— not just to bring rain, but to keep her promise.
As water filled the river, Kaka whispered, “True friends always find their way back.”
And high above, the cloud glowed brighter than ever.
