Emotional IntelligenceThe quiet night held up the silver moon, While the little oak whispered a sleepy tune. By the window, two candles softly gleamed, Dancing in the dark as if they dreamed.
One was Bluey, calm and blue, The other Sunny, yellow and true. Their tiny flames would sway and play, Like little hearts learning to shine each day.
Bluey grumbled, “It’s not quite fair, Humans light us up, then leave us bare! When it’s dark, we shine so wide, But once it’s bright, we’re pushed aside.”
Sunny glowed warmly, full of cheer, “Zzzz… waiting can be boring here! But when we shine, the room feels bright, Scattering sunbeams left and right.”
Bluey sighed, “Do they care for our glow?” Sunny twinkled, “Oh! Oh! Listen — you should know!”
"One special night, a baby cried, ‘Wah wah wah!’ with tears so wide. I shone my light with all my might, The baby looked… then smiled outright!"
Sunny’s flame danced high, all full of glee, “I felt like a superhero, wild and free! I chased the shadow monster away — And brought the smiles back out to play!”
Bluey frowned, “You’re brave, I see. But heroes fade, like you and me. They need our light when fear is near— Then leave us once the joy is here.”
“Oh, not true!” said Sunny with a grin, “They remember us when joy begins! On birthdays, I sit atop the cake and spin, They clap, they cheer, they laugh, they sing— I’m part of every happy thing!”
Bluey whispered, softly and shy, “Then—poof!—they blow you out… no goodbye.”
Sunny leaned close, gentle and wise, “We can’t choose when our light will rise, Or when it fades away from sight. But we can choose to be happy as we shine."
"You hold the spark within your flame, The key to joy is yours to claim. You’re glowing, Bluey — warm and true, The world feels brighter because of you.”
Bluey’s flame began to sway, A tiny tear slipped softly away. His heart grew calm, his worries took flight, He chose to shine, he chose delight.
Side by side, their flames rejoice, Together shining The Light of Choice.
