Lily's Christmas Wish
A heartwarming Christmas story about an orphaned girl named Lily who wishes for someone to be with her. On Christmas Eve, Santa Claus visits her, bringing not just a gift, but the promise that she will never spend Christmas alone again, teaching her the true meaning of warmth and companionship.
Lily’s Christmas Wish It was Christmas Eve, and little Lily stood by the cold window, holding a red stocking in her hands.
“I hope Santa remembers me this year…” she whispered.
For many years, Lily’s stocking had stayed empty. She was an orphan who lived alone in a small house at the edge of the village.
But tonight, her eyes still shone with hope.
She hung the stocking by the fireplace. The wind whistled through the cracks, and the hearth was cold.
“I just wish for one gift, just one,” Lily murmured, placing a hand over her heart.
Suddenly, a clatter echoed outside. Lily jumped.
A red sparkle slid across the sky.
Could it be Santa really coming? Lily hurried into the snowy yard. Soft flakes danced around her.
In the middle of the yard lay a golden bell, glowing faintly warm. She picked it up, puzzled.
Then came slow, heavy footsteps from the pine forest. Lily’s heart pounded. A tall figure in a red coat stepped out of the mist.
Santa Claus appeared, his white beard swaying gently. He glanced at the bell in Lily’s hand and smiled.
“I believe I dropped that.” Lily nervously returned the bell.
“I was afraid you wouldn’t come again…” she said quietly, eyes lowered.
Santa knelt so his eyes met hers. “I never forget anyone,” he said softly. “Sometimes the road is just very long. You’ve waited all these years. That’s very brave.”
Lily gathered her courage. “Do… do I get a gift?” she asked, her voice barely louder than the snowflakes falling around them.
Santa chuckled warmly. “Of course. But tell me, what is your true wish?”
Lily thought for a moment, then whispered: “I wish for someone to be with me.”
Santa’s eyes softened. “Love is the greatest gift,” he said. “And you deserve it.”
He touched the golden bell. It began to glow. Warm light spread out, filling the little house.
Strings of gentle lights appeared along the roof.
By the fireplace, a red-ribboned box shimmered into view.
Lily opened it. Inside was a thick, cozy scarf that smelled faintly of cinnamon. A small card read: “You will never spend Christmas alone again.”
Tears warmed Lily’s cheeks. She rushed outside to thank Santa, but he had already vanished into the snowy night.
Only the distant ringing of a bell floated through the sky.
Lily wrapped the scarf around her neck and smiled.
Inside her tiny home, her heart glowed with warmth.
Christmas didn’t always bring many gifts. Sometimes it simply brought someone who remembered you.
