Story Details

Create a children's illustration in the style of origami, The material is like multi-layered handmade paper, warm tones, detailed, and flexible. The Helping Fold Lucy walked into class and saw Ben hunched over his math book. His shoulders drooped like an origami figure folded the wrong way. Lucy felt her heart pinch a little.

“Ben, are you okay?” she asked. Ben shook his head. “I keep getting everything wrong… I don’t think I’m good at learning.”

Lucy looked at his faint, crumpled smile—like warm, layered handmade paper that could wrinkle with just one touch. She decided she would help him.

During recess, Lucy pulled out a stack of honey-yellow math cards. “Let’s play a game called Paper Stars! If you get an answer right, you earn a folded paper star.”

Ben looked surprised, but his eyes slowly brightened. He tried solving a simple addition problem. His fingers trembled a little, like choosing the first crease of a paper crane.

“You got it!” Lucy cheered. Ben smiled—a warm, soft smile like brown handmade paper. “I want to try another!”

Soon, every correct answer turned into another tiny star. Bit by bit, Ben grew more confident.

At the end of the day, Ben held his box of paper stars. “Thank you, Lucy. Learning with you… feels like I’m folding myself back together.”

Lucy gently tapped his shoulder. “Let’s keep growing together.” The two friends ran toward the playground, while their little paper stars glimmered in the afternoon sun.
