Story Details

Raindrop giggled. She always giggled before a fall. But today, a shiver went down her watery spine. She would fall to a dry, dry desert. People there had never felt a happy splash. Could her giggle make them smile?

"Whee!" Raindrop tumbled. She landed on hot, cracked dirt. *Splat!* The dirt drank her up. Then, a tiny green shoot poked out. It made a little yawn.

More raindrops jumped. "Giggle, giggle!" they cried. They landed on dusty rocks. *Plink, plop!* The rocks softened. A bright yellow flower pushed its head up. It blinked in the sun. A quiet hum started.

A whole cloud of raindrops zoomed down. "Yahoo!" they shouted. They hit the sandy ground. *Pitter-patter!* The sand turned soft and dark. Little blue flowers burst open. They danced in a new breeze.

The hum grew louder. It was a happy, singing sound. Raindrop felt warm and bubbly. Her giggle had worked!
