Story Details

Wolfy the wolf loved moonlight. He filled glass jars with shimmery silver light. He filled a hundred jars. He filled a thousand jars.

Then, a giant, greedy eclipse gulped all the moon-glow! It hid the light in a big, grumpy Dark Cloud.

Wolfy had to climb! Up, up he went. He met a little lamb. The lamb trembled. “I’m scared!” bleated the lamb.

Wolfy opened one jar. A tiny beam lit the ground. The lamb stopped trembling.

Wolfy climbed higher. He met a flappy bat. The bat bumped around. “I can’t see!” squeaked the bat.

Wolfy opened another jar. A warm glow touched the bat’s eyes. The bat could see!

Wolfy climbed even higher. He met a sleepy night-watchman. The watchman shivered. “It’s so dark!” grumbled the man.

Wolfy had only one jar left. CRACK! He broke it open. Silver light streamed out. It became a bright lantern for the man.

The Dark Cloud burst! Silver rain poured down. It filled every jar in the valley.

Sparkly light shone everywhere. Wolfy smiled. Light shared made more light.
