In a big empty field lived a little squirrel named Nutkin. His tail was fluffy and his paws were quick.

Every day, Nutkin looked around. “Only grass… no trees to climb,” he sighed.

One autumn, he found a shiny brown acorn. “This could be a tree!” he cheered.

He dug a tiny hole in the middle of the field and gently placed the acorn inside.

Winter came. Snow covered everything. Nutkin visited every day and whispered, “Grow strong.”

Spring rain fell. A green tip poked up. “Hello!” Nutkin danced around it.

Summer sun shone. The sprout became a little tree with five leaves. Nutkin brought water every morning.

Birds saw the tree. “May we rest here?” they asked. Nutkin nodded happily.

The birds dropped seeds from faraway places. Nutkin planted every one.

Years passed. More trees grew—tall, medium, baby trees. The field turned green.

Rabbits played, deer rested, owls nested. “Thank you, Nutkin!” everyone said.

The first big tree dropped hundreds of acorns. Nutkin gave them to baby squirrels.

Nutkin learned that one tiny seed plus daily love can grow a whole forest home.

On windy days, the trees whisper Nutkin’s name like a thank-you song.

Every autumn, the new squirrels plant more seeds, remembering the little one who started it all.

And the empty field became a forever forest—full of shade, nuts, and happy hearts.
