Mia walked over with hopeful eyes. “Tom, can I play with your truck too?”
Tom shook his head. “I’m afraid it might break.”
Mia walked away quietly, feeling sad. Tom suddenly realized that playing alone didn’t feel fun at all.
He looked over at Mia, who was now drawing circles in the sand by herself. Tom thought, Maybe sharing isn’t so scary.
He walked toward her and said, “Mia, let’s play together. You can drive the truck, and I’ll build the road.”
Mia’s face lit up.
They worked together, building a sandy track and sending the truck rolling over little bridges.
Tom laughed happily. “Sharing doesn’t break toys. It makes playing better.”
Mia nodded. “Because we share the fun.”
