Story Details

Ben the giant had a rumble in his tummy. A big, big hiccup shook him. POOF! A tiny arch of red light jumped out!

Ben blinked. He hiccupped again. POOF! This time, a little orange arch popped up. Ben’s big eyes grew wider.

The gray forest usually felt sleepy. Ben hiccupped. POOF! A green arch glowed near a dull rock. A little squirrel peeked out.

Ben hiccupped again. POOF! A blue arch shimmered by a brown stump. The squirrel came closer, its nose wiggling.

Ben took a deep, wobbly breath. He hiccupped with all his might. POOF! POOF! POOF! Yellow, purple, and pink arches danced across the forest floor.

The gray trees looked less gray. The squirrel chittered happily. A shy rabbit hopped out. Its ears twitched.

Ben kept hiccupping. The forest filled with bright, happy colors. The air smelled fresh and new. The animals watched, their tiny faces soft.

Ben stopped hiccupping. The last rainbow faded. The forest was still bright. The animals smiled.

Ben smiled too. His tummy felt much better.
