Once upon a twinkling night, in a village that never slept without light, lived a little lantern named Sparkle. Every evening, all the lanterns glowed together—red, blue, yellow, and green.

But one morning, when the sun rose, Sparkle woke up… and could not glow. Not even a tiny flicker.

“I’ve forgotten how to glow!” Sparkle cried. The other lanterns whispered, “Maybe he’s broken forever.” Sparkle felt smaller than ever.

That night, a little girl named Mei ran through the village crying. “My grandma is sick, and the path to her house is too dark! I’m scared to go alone.”

All the big lanterns were busy lighting the festival. Only Sparkle was free… but he had no light to give. “I wish I could help,” he sighed.

Mei looked up. “Even a tiny light is better than none. Will you come with me, Sparkle? Just to keep me company?” Sparkle was terrified… but he loved Mei. “Okay,” he whispered.

Step by step, they walked into the darkness. Sparkle trembled. The night felt huge. Mei held him close and said, “I believe in you, Sparkle. You’ve glowed for me a thousand times.”

Something warm began to grow inside Sparkle. It started as a spark… then a flicker… then a beautiful golden glow that lit up the entire path!

Sparkle remembered! He had never been broken. He only needed someone to believe in him.

They reached Grandma’s house safe and warm. Grandma smiled and said, “Thank you, little lantern. You are the brightest light I’ve ever seen.”

From that night on, Sparkle never forgot again. Whenever anyone felt afraid of the dark, he glowed a little brighter… because true light comes from love and courage.
