Story Details

My name is Tamy. I grew up in a cave, where it was completely dark, with only stars twinkling and shining.

Whenever the stars couldn't stay steady, they turned into shooting stars, and the adults would go catch them.

I hung the shooting stars on the wall—their glow was so beautiful! But after two days, they would slowly fade.

When the stars stopped shining, I placed them into the sleeping volcano. One day, the volcano started gurgling loudly, and then—"Boom!"

A huge, glowing thing shot out, lighting up everything around. It was so bright we couldn't even open our eyes.

After discussing it, everyone decided to weave a giant net and work together to hang the glowing thing up in the sky.

With our eyes closed, just like moving in the dark, we placed the glowing object into the net and climbed the highest mountain together.

The birds came to help, too. Together, we hung it up in the sky.

From then on, the world had a sun, shining with warm sunlight.

With sunlight came colors, and the world turned colorful and bright.

With sunlight, plants grew quickly, and cats lay lazily basking in the sun.

The once-dark world was like having its eyes closed.

Now, with light, I can see what my mom and dad look like. How wonderful!
