On a rainy windowsill sat a tiny folded paper boat named Sail. A child had made him that morning.
The child placed Sail in a puddle outside. “Go on an adventure!” he said, then ran inside.
Suddenly — whoosh! — a strong wind lifted Sail into the gutter river.
Big plastic boats and wooden sticks laughed. “Paper will sink in the storm!”
Rain poured harder. Thunder roared. The gutter became a wild river racing to the drain.

He passed the scary drain and shot into a bigger stream under the street.

From that day, Sail sat on her shelf, dry and safe, telling every new paper boat: “Don’t be afraid of the storm. Paper can sail farther than anyone thinks — if it keeps its sail open to hope.”
