Some words share a meaning.

These words are called synonyms.

Happy and joyful. Both mean a bright feeling.

Small and tiny. Both mean not big.

Fast and quick. Both mean moving easily.

Some words mean the opposite of others.

These words are called antonyms.

Hot and cold. One warms, one chills.

Up and down. One rises, one falls.

Begin and end. One starts, one finishes.like the sun and moon

Synonyms bring words together. Antonyms help us compare.

With both kinds of words, language becomes clear and bright.
