Max's Global Sharing Mission
The morning sun was warm and soft. Then ding-ding! Max’s tablet beeped. Mr. Elephant sent a message: “Time to go! The little animals on China’s Treasure Island of Taiwan are waiting for you to bring the Giggle Academy there!”
Beedog points at the map and cheers, "Taiwan Island has fireflies and flying squirrels!" Beedog hops onto Roam's back and shouts, "Let's go! To China's Treasure Island, Taiwan!"
A-Yi carries Max and flies steadily, with Roam following close beside them. Beedog looks down in wonder and claps happily, “Taiwan Island looks like green jade floating on the blue sea. It’s so beautiful!”
They land in the Yangmingshan bamboo forest. The sika deer say hello warmly: “Welcome, friends from the mainland! Have some of our sweet mochi!” Beedog takes one bite of the mochi and wags its tail happily.
The little animals can’t wait for the class to start. Max takes out his glowing tablet. The happy music even gets A-Yi’s attention, and it tilts its head to look in curiosity.
The little black bear taps the "mountain" button, and the Central Mountain Range animation springs to life. "These are Taiwan's mountains, siblings to the Huangshan mountains on the mainland!" Max nods with a smile, "The mainland and Taiwan have always been closely connected."
Beedog encourages the shy leopard cub, "Don't be afraid, it's okay to make mistakes." The cub pronounces "L," and pink petals drift onto its nose. Finally, it breaks into a happy smile.
The baby leopard cat works out “3+2=5,” and the screen plays a fun dance right away. A-Yi taps its foot to make a beat, and Roam spins nicely up in the sky. The whole forest becomes a happy playground.
Everyone shares pineapple cakes and bubble tea. A-Yi chews on soft bamboo shoots. When black pearls stick to Beedog’s mouth, the blue magpie flies over quickly to wipe them off gently.
The sika deer gives Max a wood carving of a deer. “It has ‘Good Friends Across the Strait’ carved on it,” says the deer. Max takes it softly and says, “I’ll come to visit often and tell you stories from the mainland.”
By the campfire, the little animals sing Taiwanese folk songs.“The friends here are so warm,” Beedog says. “I really wish I could stay here forever with all of you!”
Max says, “Let’s go see the fireflies on Alishan tomorrow!” The little black bear pats its chest and offers to be their guide. Roam and the blue magpie leave after dark to check the path first.
The sika deer helps tidy A-Yi’s feathers and gives it soft bamboo shoots to eat. A-Yi feels so cozy that it sighs happily. On the tablet, the cartoon pictures of the cherry barb fish look especially cute!
The Alishan leaf sample from the small black bear and the butterfly orchid petal from the leopard cub are Beedog’s favorite and most treasured gifts from its new friends.
Under the starlight, Taiwan and the mainland are like dear friends holding hands. Standing beside A-Yi, Max smiles to himself and thinks, “The story of China's Treasure Island, Taiwan, is only just beginning.”
