Story Details

Panda packs a small yellow picnic basket. He hums happily. “Today I will have a sweet picnic,” he says.

He walks through the forest and stops under a big shady tree. “This is a perfect spot,” Panda smiles.

Panda opens his basket. Inside are cookies, fruit, and a tiny cup of warm milk. “Yummy!” he whispers.

Suddenly, he hears soft footsteps. Three little animals peek from behind the bushes—a bunny, a squirrel, and a bird.

Panda waves kindly. “Hello, friends! Would you like to join my picnic?” The animals nod happily.

Panda breaks his cookies into small pieces. “Let’s share!” he says. The bunny gets a cookie piece and wiggles its ears.

The squirrel takes a small grape and twirls its fluffy tail. Panda giggles. “You’re very funny!”

The little bird drinks from Panda’s tiny milk cup. “Tweet! Tweet!” Panda laughs softly. “You’re welcome!”

They sit together under the big tree, enjoying the snacks and the warm breeze. Panda says, “Picnics are better with friends.”

When the sun begins to set, the animals give Panda a group hug. “Come back again!” they chirp, squeak, and hop. Panda smiles warmly. “I will!”
