Story Details

Look at these! I am Zippy, a bright red sneaker. My job is to run fast!

A happy child is tying my long white laces into a tight, neat bow.

The child wears me and steps onto the soft, green grass. It's time to play!

Zoom! Zoom! We run very quickly! My strong rubber sole helps us grip the ground.

Splash! We run right through a small, clear puddle. My sides get a little wet.

We jump over a rope! I help the child jump very high and land safely.

We walk on a rough, bumpy path in the park. My thick sole protects the child's foot.

A fluffy dog runs right beside me! We are having a fun race in the sun.

The warm sun shines on my red fabric, making me dry and comfortable.

After a long day, the child uses a damp cloth to wipe off the mud and dirt.

I am resting safely by the door. My friend, the other shoe, is right next to me.

I am Zippy, the zooming shoe. I rest now, dreaming of the next big run tomorrow!
