Hello! This is Mimi the little grey Mouse. Mimi has a heart full of feelings, but sometimes she needs help knowing what they are!
The sun is shining, and Mimi’s best friend, Freddie the Frog, has come to play! Mimi feels Happy! Happy feels like a light, bouncy hop. Her mouth turns up in a smile.
Oh no! Mimi tripped and dropped her favorite acorn. Now Mimi feels Sad. Sad feels heavy, and sometimes tears roll down her cheeks.
Freddie the Frog sees Mimi is sad. He gives her a big, gentle hug! Sharing feelings and getting a hug can make the sad feeling feel lighter.
Another mouse took Mimi's turn on the slide. Mimi feels Mad! Mad feels hot, and sometimes her hands clench tight. She wants to stomp her foot.
Mimi remembers what her mom taught her. When she feels mad, she needs to stop and take a deep breath. In through the nose, out through the mouth. It helps the hot feeling cool down.
It is dark outside, and Mimi hears a strange sound in the bushes. Mimi feels Scared. Scared feels wiggly and small. She hides behind Freddie.
Freddie says, "Let's be brave together!" They shine a small light toward the sound. It was only a tiny cricket singing! When we face what scares us, the scared feeling goes away.
Suddenly, a giant butterfly lands right on Mimi’s nose! Mimi feels Surprised! Surprised makes her eyes pop open wide and her mouth make an "O" shape!
Mimi had a busy day of feelings! Happy, Sad, Mad, and Scared. It is okay to feel all the feelings! They help us know what we need.
If a feeling is too big or confusing, Mimi knows she can talk to a grown-up or a friend. Talking about feelings helps us understand them better.
Mimi is a great little mouse who knows her heart! She knows that feelings come and go, like the weather in the sky. What feeling will you have next?
