Story Details

Hello! This is Rosie the friendly Caterpillar. Rosie loves colors, but today she is going on an adventure to find all the colors of the Rainbow!

Rosie crawls along and finds the color Red. She sees a bright, juicy Apple hanging from a branch. Red is also the color of a stop sign!

Next, Rosie finds Orange! She sees a crunchy, straight Carrot growing in the soil. Orange is a warm, cheerful color.

Rosie looks up at the sky. She sees Yellow! The big Sun is yellow and warm. A bright banana is also yellow.

Rosie loves the color Green. She sees it everywhere! The Leaves on the trees and the fresh Grass are all green. Green is the color of life!

Rosie looks at the sky and the pond. She finds Blue! The clear Sky on a sunny day is blue, and the Water in the pond is blue too.

Rosie crawls onto a bush. She finds the color Purple! She sees a cluster of sweet, round Grapes growing close together.

Rosie learned that three colors are the most important: Red, Yellow, and Blue. These are the Primary Colors, which means you can mix them to make other colors!

If Rosie mixes Red and Yellow paint, she gets Orange! If she mixes Blue and Yellow paint, she gets Green!

Rosie finds Black and White. These are not rainbow colors, but they are still important. The night sky is black, and the clouds are white.

Rosie found all the beautiful colors of the rainbow and learned that colors help us see and enjoy the world around us.

Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple! Rosie is ready to draw a beautiful, colorful picture. What colors will you use to draw your favorite thing?
